Bear Creek Lake
Although it’s officially named Bear Creek Lake, everyone calls it Bear Lake. This amazing 500 acre lake is situated at an elevation of 2500 feet, is up to 190 feet deep and brags summer temperatures of up to 80 degrees. Bear Lake Reserve owns 6 miles of the thirteen mile shoreline where you can fish trout, small mouth bass, walleye, brim and sunfish. Boats of all types are welcome.
If hiking is your passion, you will feel appropriately challenged on our nearly-17 miles of hiking and walking trails that connect throughout the 2,100 acre resort. Whether you are a novice or seasoned hiker, you will appreciate our ancient forests, cascading waterfalls, wooden bridges and scenic overlooks, not to mention abundant species of birds and plant life. And, with the Blue Ridge Mountains, Pisgah National Forest and Nanatahala National Forest as neighbors, there is never a shortage of places to explore the beauty of your Western North Carolina home.
